Yan Zhi Kou Rose

The Yan Zhi Kou rose, bred by Chinese hybridizer Jiang Zhengzhi in 2012, is a vigorous climbing rose admired for its abundant blooms and unique coloring. Its small, cupped flowers (about 4 cm across) feature a striking contrast—deep red at the center, blending into soft pink edges with a silvery sheen on the petals. Each cane produces clusters of buds, ensuring a profuse and eye-catching display throughout the season.

Growing up to 13 feet, Yan Zhi Kou is fast-growing and adaptable, with branches that easily reach 6–10 feet in just half a year—perfect for training along fences, arches, or pergolas. It thrives even in less fertile soil, shows excellent shade tolerance, and is notably resistant to disease. While its fragrance is faint and flowers are on the smaller side, the sheer volume of blossoms and the luminous pink-red tones make it a spectacular ornamental variety.
