Hong Chun Rose

The Hong Chun rose, also known as “Red Lips,” is a striking shrub rose distinguished by its bold two-tone blooms. Each flower, 3-4‘’ across, opens with creamy-white petals edged in bright red. As the bloom matures, the red deepens and spreads, creating a dramatic visual effect. The petals have a slightly wavy edge and form a deep cup shape, unfolding in a spiral that eventually opens into a rounded blossom with a recessed center.

Growing to about 36‘’ in height, Hong Chun is a compact, elegant shrub well-suited for borders, containers, or garden beds. Its dynamic color transformation makes it a conversation piece in any garden, while its strong form and dependable performance ensure lasting appeal. Originally discovered in 2011 as a sport of the ‘Carola’ rose, it retains the vigor and resilience of its parent variety while offering a unique and eye-catching flower color.
